With the heightened DOL enforcement noted, it is imperative that all employers who provide employee benefit plans that are subject to ERISA, be aware of their risks.

 

ERISA disclosure requirements apply to all Private Sector Employer benefit plans regardless of the number of employees. Statistics indicate that 90-95% of all employers who are subject to the ERISA Code of Regulations have at least one major violation with these requirements.

 

Making the insurance professional aware of these rules in order for them to inform their clients is extremely beneficial in their service and relationship with their clients.
